A Soft Start
I’m slowly easing into the new year and that means time for reflection. Twenty-twenty three was an incredible year for so many reasons. There were still enormous challenges to get through but I finally felt like the hard work I’ve put into my business over the last year is paying off. I feel like I really know and trust myself in work and in life.
There's nothing like successfully surfing life challenges to ensure a boost of confidence in yourself and your business skills. In 2023, I scaled my business in a huge way, working with almost a dozen new clients on inspiring projects across graphic design, data visualization and branding.
In the end, I finished the year grateful. Grateful that I slowed down enough to connect and create more memories with friends. That I learned from the incredible burnout I felt in 2022 to successfully navigate busy seasons with my sanity! And grateful for incredible clients and partners who made work fun and interesting.
Best of 2023:
Buying my first house! None of my other financial goals were accomplished this year as a result of reaching this milestone. Achieving this accomplishment while simultaneously giving myself the grace to enjoy it without the guilt of not finishing other goals has been huge.
Joining a Sunday Supper Club! Each month our group meets and shares a meal with a specific theme. Over the last year I've challenged myself in the kitchen and made new friends. It is one of the things that I look forward to each month.
Delegating !! As a perfectionist I hadn't truly realized the negative impact that my lack of delegating was having on my life until extreme burnout in the Fall of 2022. This year I hired a copywriter (Little Flame Creative), a photographer (Bailey Page photos), outsourced research when possible and hired my first official employee - a part-time Business Coordinator who will start in January 2024. And you know what? the quality of my work did not fall. In fact, my business actually grew because suddenly I had time to focus on clients. And I had shared my mission and work with so many more people who recommended me to their network!

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my life this year. I cannot wait to kick off 2024 and see where it takes us!
